Cryptic Goodbyes

Cryptic Goodbyes

A Poem by Amanda Renee
"

A reflection on an encounter helping a neighbor to her apartment

"

 I told a 96-year-old woman today,

(while I held her hand) that,

“I will see you soon”.

I like that more than goodbye,

And I think she did too.

Amanda, empathy has it own special emotional beauty - and someone who has it, has similar. How thoughtful you are!

Quite a tactful move on your part. Ninety six year olds have probably already said a lot of inward goodbyes and don't need to hear any more.
