Writing

Writing

A Poem by Amanda Renee
"

A response to "Why I Write" prompt.

"

I write to capture a memory, a feeling,

Or a story that needs to be told.

A photograph constructed with 26 humble letters,

Without the need of chemicals or a digital sensor,

An image emerges and is held.

I enjoyed this. All very nice reasons to write. I write because I cannot, "not write"; might as well tell a fish not to swim or a bird not to fly. And while there may be fish that do not swim and birds that do not fly there are NO poets (and never have been) who do not write. ;) Keep painting the pictures and telling the stories. It's a gift. Swim for the birds that can't and fly for the fish that try or something like that. Keep creating.

For me you encapsulate all the positive reasons why we all write,....:)
To capture memories and emotions....as a kind of therapy....

No need for filters or complications....just keep it real and let the imagry flow forth from the heart....those that need to read it will...:)

Your words create and display exactly what twenty six letters can do: create, share and teach in both emotional and intellectual shades, Amanda. Many thanks for taking the time to contribute! Hug

Only too welcome, dear friend. Take care or you, please. :)
Poems capture instances, moments, people in our lives or people we wish we knew.

Yes, that is why we write. A photograph in words that might just survive centuries, as many older poems have.
