Reminiscing The Little Child in You

Children day is widely celebrated all over India on the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru. These are few lines i penned down as a tribute to little children all over the world

 

When crayon colors were difficult to chose,

When life was all about homework and polished school shoes,

When each doll was given a name and hide an dseek was a favourite game,

When chocolate was the best bribe and exams would take you for a ride,

When the most priced possession was a kitchen set and on trivial things we would bet,

Those childhood days we really miss when life was just purely bliss.

Reminiscene poetry is always touching. Again, I don't particularly like the "hide n seek" in place of "hide and seek" or the "When d" instead of "When the". The reason is that years from now when the fad of text language fades, no one will understand your work and poetry is, after all, for posterity. Beyond that, I like the tone of this work and the imagry created. I enjoyed the read.
