An Irony of Nature

Torrential Rains

Deafening sounds of thunder

Strong winds

Destruction and damage

Slowly lessens the noise

Gradually stops the rains

 Calm and serene reign 

A land where all is lost

Hopeful for a better tomorrow

Thankful for all that remains

I like the message of this. Perhaps it seems simplicit at first but in the end we are all dependent upon nature even though we have forgotten how to be part of it. Very well structured and meaningful. A truly important read.

This poem is kind of abrupt, although you added a sight indication of slowing. Loud, loud, quiet. That is kind of eerie. Now, whether you decide to change that or not, it is good. Besides abruptness, it's good...
