Issac

A Poem by Anthony Devin Medeiros

In August,
When the winds shifted along the coast
To Lengthen Summer and Heat

When weddings coincided with births
To dot the Sunday print
And couples huddled over to reminisce

He paused to watch too
From his pure and white fog
The wonder of his life

When he became its entirety
Without the burden of experience
Which we are doomed to repeat

And I stood in awe of the example
Of such an untainted journey, when -
He passed on, the lucky one.
