sometimes with that uncertain relationship...especially if there is a lot of feeling on one side...we go through so many emotions each time a new text comes up...or the phone rings, (like in the good old days)--

and we wonder, is it he, or is it she? pitter patter pitter patter.

I can picture this... the staccato - like speaking through a strobe light. For me it loses the edge though - just me I guess.
