joy in meA Chapter by Lyn Andersonfor Momzilla's poetry challenge pertaining to finding joy in your now
I tried to write an acrostic,
and it was a dud. I tried to express it in a flowing soliloquy, and it fell with a thud. I just can't fake it, even when I want to. but what I can say is I do find joy in the little things: the touch of my child's hand or the look in her eyes when she stuffs homemade pancakes into her silly face ... sand between my toes, or an ocean breeze, the crunch of gravel beneath my shoes as I run "peace be with you" kneeling in a pew, shaking my neighbour's hand in church belly rubs for a clumsy overgrown German Shepherd, who likes to roll on the floor and the smile my lover gives me when I tell him I want more ... sharing poetry, laughter, wine, and song; some of the things that help me along. joy. © 2017 Lyn AndersonAuthor's NoteReviews
