sometimes things just bubble over

I can't keep time,
or anything
in a bottle.

my feelings,
refuse to settle.
they bubble up;

I must release
before I attempt
to put a cork
in it again.

I am glad you
understand that

and I know
the stopper
is a necessity.

it keeps the contents
from running
over me
onto you.

my favorite is the first second... I can't keep anything in a bottle.
it allows us to think of what we want to put there... and makes me think of the
simon and garfunkel song- time in a bottle.
