SERPENT FATE

Current mood:  rejuvenated

He has died a thousand deaths

only to live again

this serpent fate of mine

that kills all that does not agree

and yet...

my hand around his throat

is warm and slippery

I give every strength I own

to tempt his ravenous palate

while angels dance

he eats the moments of my life

a feast for chance

a gift from me

to turn his motive merry

and his mood so good

that I the mortal

may outlive the muse that guides me
