Shower AfficionadosA Poem by an I adriftKeep on forward!
I'll take the fall for this Another one you managed to miss
It's kind of like that time... Oh wait like every time
I can't feel the ground I've never been able to I've been floating slowly upward to heaven
I don't know when I'll get there
Why does it feel like I'm in Hawaii?
The weather's calm But the storm inside the self is much too... floating
Selective talents
I'm there right now I wonder if they know
They see me walking down the sunday streets With my tight jeans huggin' and my disco beats Dance for me Dance for them But you slide right off Like children do at playgrounds
Try and make sense And see through them And into me You'll know it's me because I never take my eyes off yours Curse the day I see them cry From whoever none worthy
Flip the switch Body doesn't?
?
I've got the 1, 2, 3 today Say what you need to say With little delay
I'm sensing storms and my mind's been split Running out of bounds into fields of s**t
Where was I before? The time had ended You were there I swear And you said to me...
Blue skies bring relief To the being and the mind So much so it had shutdown
You know the twelve year old hockey player With dreams that would go past the sky But maybe I just missed
You push me and I cave in to the pressures of this world
Leave me behind with an unknowing...
The days have come and gone And you've been gone so damn long Sensing some wrong
What do these red walls symbolize But a broken home and tired eyes I watch the days I hope they're watching over you
Writing on the desk Checking the access Tunnelling through Mars Riding our favorite stars
Finally Inside New Interesting Safe House
Running faster Closing in on disaster
The pages want to close on me Like everyone else I'll be on the garage shelf Listening to you laugh And writing out a map To your heart I know where to start
My life and my
S**t that's all I've got Why make me realize now? I aim to nothing now. © 2008 an I adrift |
