A Poem by an I adrift

Figured out a way.

Figured out the storm.

Watched it fade.

And watched it stay.

Maybe they were right.

Is it too much?

This deserves some space.

An endless bubble of space.

Space and time.

Life and air.

This isn’t so bad.

Not today

Not ever

When the sun sets I will be free.

It’s all we need.

All I want.

I think it’s okay.

I think it’s another road

Wave goodbye

We’re not lost children

But inner beings

Trapped in a photograph

But not like theirs!

A real one

With people

With love

With harmony

I would do anything for this

To do this

To not be wandering

But stable in one secure place

Where nothing wrong exists

I’m lying

It doesn’t exist

But it’s out there.

Let it begin.

Begin to realize it’s a false statement

Not what it’s cracked up to be

Not what it’s crafted up to be.

Creation is alive still.

They showed me.

They watched me.

Saw the end and took a turn

Lost their stride and reached me.

I didn’t see.

I stood.

Not caring.

Don’t really care

I’d want them to stare

But for the wrong reasons

The nothing that shows

It doesn’t hide for long

I have yet to run out.

It’s not epic

But it’s starting to shape out that way

Starting to wear it through thick and thin
