Fireside Words

Fireside Words

A Poem by an I adrift

Don't put us in list form
We wish to roam
We wish to see
There's a state we long for
In the regions of minds
In between conditioned crafting
There lies a secret
No reason to be afraid
Though the scenery has changed
It's really all the same
Place more words around me
As I'm starting to forget
The warmth

You can run
Hiding in the debri rests my army
Run on home to see
The letter you desire is right on time
Only it's not in your hand
It''s on their plates
And they begin

An everyday routine some cherish
And some despise
Pick the latter and it really begins
The beginning of the end you could say
There's a bind in their words
And a sickness in their hearts
The human interaction
To the mundane is fascinating

I'm in search of that indescribable feeling
They say it doesn't exist
The airwaves speak differently
The sounds utter truth
That hasn't changed
But even the source of this warmth
Is fake
