We're Still Fighting?

We're Still Fighting?

A Poem by ananyayaya

We share the same sky,
Live on the same planet " the Mother Earth.
We breathe the same air,
Still… we fight.

What actually are we fighting for?
For sadness? For scars?
For egos that vanish like shooting stars?

We bleed the same red,
We cry the same tears,
Yet we plant hatred
And water it with fears.

Oh, I remember what I read in my history book
The story of Hiroshima and Nagasaki,
Terrifying.
We all know what that nuclear radiation caused
Gene alteration, generations scarred.
Still… we fight?

At what cost?

Oh, I remember one more incident
The war between Ukraine and Russia.
But this isn't the whole list
There are many more wars raging across the world.

We all know what war leads to
Destruction, death, and broken dreams.
Still… we fight?

Aren’t we humans after all?
We’re not born to battle over meaningless stuff.
We’re meant to feel,
To grow,
To love each other, not destroy one another.

Because when the last war ends and silence falls,
Only love will echo through the walls.

Very well rhymed and reasoned piece here. But as to the question as to why we fight, I have thought a bit about that. I think it's because of insufficient evolution.

100%. Why do we fight? We are humans. We are meant to feel. To grow. To love. Not destroy one another.
I agree. I wish the world would change.
