The tao of water

Be humble like water,

to the lowest spots flow,

divert around obstacles,

conflicts for show

Be accepting like water

for it joins without seam,

whether droplets from river,

cloud, ocean or stream

Be patient like water

for by this alone,

these droplets that yielded

make canyons from stone

For to follow the water

is to live in the tao,

to be without doing,

all time in the now

[DCT ponderings]

I am particularly fond of the imagery of water perhaps my Piscean nature but when I read this I thought of a line from Legends of the fall.....
She was like the water that freezes inside a rock and breaks it apart. It was no more her fault than it is the fault of the water when the rock shatters.
