Manufactured hatred

Hatreds manufactured between fear and feigned abuses

Vested interests left unchecked spawn spurious excuses

History’s pages overflow with facts long proven hollow

Born to make the drums of war a beat that we will follow

 

When the UN Security Councils permanent members top the list

of the largest weapons exporters then the point it seems is missed,

That a threat to peace determined by those whose economies rely

upon the sale of deadly weapons ensures demand will be kept high

 

Defence budgets must be maintained, and threats must be supplied,

we keep fearing the wolves no matter how many times cried 

Don’t watch the pointing fingers, but instead who stands to gain,

for body counts will climb as long as bank accounts hold reign
