Nostalgia (Homesickness)

This is a poem about homesickness. I wrote in when I was in Switzerland.

Mi manca la terra

mia natia.

Provo una forte,

amara nostalgia.

Vorrei tornare,

ma io qui debbo

ancora restare.

E ti sento lontana,

anche se sei vicina.

E vorrei essere lì.

Presto tornero'.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

[I miss my homeland. I feel a bitter homesickness. I'd like to come back, but here still I have to stay. And I feel you so far, though you're close. And I'd like to be there. Soon I'll come back.]
