but they are still gone.

This is the quintessence of loss, isn't it? Whatever is gone, no matter how beautiful or what memories remain, is still gone. And we feel that loss, no matter how many times we are told to focus on the good or the positive. The sky is full stars, but it is also full of emptiness and dead things. Thank you for noticing!

A couple of thoughts I had as I read through this one.

This one, in my opinion is a start...

My question to you would be... what is it that you want to write about stars? As a poet, what do stars mean to you? How have they impacted your life or not? Where is the wonder in this piece? The way this one reads to me is basically four lines... of a statement... are you using metaphors here? Not clear to this reader...
