My Heart

How can I deny my heart?
It shouldn't feel at fault.
It tends to feel so much
Not all see it as such.
I won't burden it with pain,
Nothing there to gain.
I want it to rejoice and cheer,
For love again it shouldn't fear.
It's been through so much trouble,
I want to keep it from any struggle.
But I will not deny my broken heart
A new beginning, another start.
I will be patient and give it time to heal,
For the moment that once again Love it will feel.

Love the way your lay yourself bare in your writing. Your ability to express your pain and joy are always impressive. There are a few spots where it feels the rhyming is a little forced but the expression is great!
