i am insecure

i am insecure of my place

in this merry-go-round turn of events

that life demands we ride.

do we make choice to sit safe within the swans

or do we dare ride black panther?

perhaps by simple luck are we able

to find chance to be as one 

on the back of  fast faithful stead?

 

watch as i reach out to catch the ring

in never ending quest of another ride

without out expense of dollar or pence.

and then comes my turn to watch your 

smile unfold as i hold out to you

the cherished reward of my effort.

Just finished reading The Winter of Our Discontent and you may have summed up that entire book in two very succinct paragraphs. The expression of who we are and what we dare and the ultimate statement about who we do it for is so spot on. Today I ride the panther and feel as though I own the jungle, when really all I desire is bite of something rare. Great work!
