traded as livestock

traded as livestock

A Poem by keith
"

enslavers came in numbers

"
traded as livestock

under dark of night
enslavers came in numbers
overwhelming the innocent

kidnapped souls
man woman child
mattered not
gold is the prize

all about gold coin
forced  labor
forced favor
owned like dogs
traded as livestock

abused on whims
on insane displays
of superiority
the multiple beatings
said so

african slaves made
fat white plantationers
wealthy beyond counting
cotton is king
cotton is coin
cotton is responsible
for many deaths

african and african-americans
are our history
black history
is everyday
