today i learned

of our loss of another writers cafe friend and poet

M.C. Sears (mary)

died september 17 from complications of aggressive cancer

i've never liked being at loss

for words

words that do justice for a wonderful being and great friend

we had met years past on OUR SALON

a writer's site to never be copied or replicated

mary was a major and well-respected member

that shared many written words

and the pleasures of her brush strokes

she was indeed an artist

in all definitions

i already miss my wonderfully talented friend

she will be deeply missed

i have opened my site for comments here to and for her daughter and son

please pay your respects

by sharing that which mary truly believed in

the written word

I am so sorry to hear this news about our Mary. A wonderful poet with a great sense of humour, such an asset to this writing site. She will be sorely missed. My condolences to her loved ones. I only became acquainted with MCS in the last year or so, but I was always impressed by the lucidity and brevity of her offerings. She could pack a sea of feeling into a few lines and her views of the world showed great wisdom. The site is the poorer for her loss. Thanks for making us aware of her passing.

That’s sorry news indeed, a great loss. From what little time I’d spent with her, I’d known her as a strong, spirited person and a tremendous artist. We never know the struggles of another, and it does seem that the strongest of us carry the heaviest burdens alone.

I’m sorry I couldn’t better share my admiration of that while she was here.

Sincere condolences Keith, she’ll be missed.
