What would I do

What would I do

A Poem by A.H.

I often think,
what would I do
if I didn't have you.

you feel lovely around my waist,
sometimes I forget about you in haste.
I know you might feel misplaced,
but you're special to be replaced.

agree, you hold me up better,
no doubt, you're a trendsetter.
you look great in leather,
my love for you has no measure.

can't get enough of you in any shape,
you feel fantastic when I tighten you like a tape.
don't let me miss you to drape,
I won't let this comfort escape.

many ask me,
why are your pants hanging loose?
I just say, please excuse,
I am looking for my pant belt,
It's an agony heartfelt.

without you,
others can sneak a view.
what would I do
if I didn't have you.

Abhilash,

Sitting here outside on a sunny Sun-Day morning, sipping coffee, gathering my wits that I do hope gemerate sane (rather than senile) thoughts, I found myself taken delightfully prisoner by the hilairity, ingeniousness, and intelligence based wonders of your most blissed and gifted imagination scrawled by artfully flowing pen to reader's page. A true treasure to read and savor

This is so clever and unexpectedly charming! You took something as ordinary as a belt and turned it into a dramatic, poetic love story, and to be honest, it works! The humor is subtle and smart, and the rhymes feel smooth and natural. I especially love the twist at the end... it brings the whole poem together in such a fun, relatable way. It’s light, creative, and has real personality. Honestly, it made me smile and I think that's the win for any poem, isn't it?
Loved it! Truly!

I'm glad to hear it made you smile. Thanks for reading and leaving a review, Dylan.
Your poem is just having fun with how something simple, like a belt, can be really important in our everyday lives! I really like this poem! It made me laugh because I sometimes forget my belt too, and my pants fall down! I agree, belts are super important. I think it's cool how you made a poem about something so small but special, Abhi! :)

Suspenders? Ha-ha! Believe me--no one would like to see my pants fall down. Of all things we might love, a simple belt mustn't be overlooked. Thanks for the laugh, my friend.

The first time I ever read a poem about a belt. lol
This is clever and funny. I haven't worn a belt in years being I've gained a little weight. I'm planning on losing weight so I may need to buy one in the future.
How can I do that now without laughing after reading this. haha

Good one. :)

You look great in leather!!! The fact that a real poet can find romantic words from ANYTHING makes me think that words of love are just word acrobatics. I will be angry to the writer for a while:D

But loved it
