When it rains

I love when it rains !

there's something about
when it rains
that I love.
don't ask me what?

the sweet scent, the gloomy skies,
the flowers and the butterflies,
the rhythmic gush,
the silent hush,
the sounds of rain,
the walk down the quiet lane.

the whirlpool of thoughts
dance in the grass puddle,
the trees and the breeze
embrace in a peaceful cuddle.
the raindrops collapse
in my tiny footsteps,
and the leaves bow down
to show their last respects.

my heart desires to be the rain,
to wash away all my pain,
it wishes to sing with the nature,
as it seeks to connect with the creator.

You right!! There is something beautiful about the rain. The rain is a wonderful excuse for me to cuddle up and read a book. This poem inspires me to continue to enjoy those raining days.

I loved "it wishes to sing with the nature, as it seeks to connect with the creator." Something about that line brings spiritual perspective to nature🤗🤗🤗. Enjoyed the rhyming too!!!

Great poem about mother nature and our own emotional landscape..:)

This poem truly speaks to me. Rain is my thing too! Something about it touches my soul in ways I can’t explain. Weather it's stormy or just a gentle rain, both are something my soul really craves for. It lifts my burdens, stirs deep emotions, and makes me forget the world for a while. Just me and the rain peaceful, present, and free.

I kept this one especially for today, as I knew I would wake to ramming after a few days of what passes for a heatwave and/or summer here.
The good news is that the grass and vegetation will get a much needed drink but the bad news is not only are we on thunder and lightning alert for the whole day but I have to go out in it too and won't get to enjoy the free show from my usual kitchen window spot, safe indoors.
Unless it gets too bad of course and in that case I'll be anywhere that has a roof sturdier than my van and will put on my scared little boy look in the hope that someone takes pity on me and makes me a cuppa while I toast myself dry on their heating! 😃
But fear not, we are on call for any emergencies in the area as well as listening intently for those magic words "unsafe to work in such conditions." Then I'll be off home to dry off, pour a coffee and watch the spectacle unfold from that aforementioned kitchen window, as I ooh and ahh at the show while dunking my biccie in my cuppa!
And then there truly is something special about the rain and storm, which takes me back to wild eyed youth and how scarily wonderful those times were that we got to watch something that terrified grownups and made us feel like Ma Nature was showing offer superpowers! 😃
