 Man defines himself, and bases his decisions

Upon the beliefs and superstitions

That are the foundation of their faith.

 

It is through religion and God

That man finds his purpose

And through that purpose motivation.

 

But as man grows, life challenges belief,

And man is given a choice:

To die with faith or live without.

 

Sadly, man is a weak creature,

And eventually religion and superstition

Fall to reality and modernity.

It's hard for me to believe that man is a weak creature. No matter what he can or can't choose to believe. Purpose can be found in many more places.

Either I don't understand this poem or I don't agree with it.
Maybe you don't agree with what you wrote. You seem to have no side, no bias.
It just feels like there is a side to this poem.
I still find it engaging. Your words are posed with strong ideas behind them.

So SO true, it always seems that mankind always starts out with faith and belief but when things get so hard that they feel they can't take it they alway seem to want to put the blame all on God the one that they believed in not wanting to accept that they are suffering the repocussions (spelling) of their own mistakes.
