for WCW from a fan

fragile things, like roses

in rain, let us be

young today, sepal-sheathed,

later blooming;

mature and naked

tomorrow,

kissed hard when

rain settles in

to slaughter

petals. laugh

with me;

with the garden shears,

pour water into the 

vase.

This is sweet and delicate and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I can take a few different meanings out of it which I like, open interpretation is something I like in writing. I did make an observation that nothing is capitalized in this - is that intentional? Even if it wasn't I think it suits the poem anyway, kind of keeps it soft and low key. This one might be one of my favorites of yours
