A Louisiana Goddess
A thousand stars of thousand evil dreams enlightened the hot and humid night at the forgotten swamp, the Cajun called night-marsh. One lonely barman told them "du bon temps danse pres du feu", but they werent able to understand its meaning. He forgot to tell it at the end of his dark slogan. When they arrived at the old cabin, the stars where singing a silent song of old times. "Loup Garou, Bal Goula", again and again. But they didnt hear it. They just lower down in front of the old house when the yellow sticky moon above was howling. The dark curtain of the night covered their fellowship in silence, but not a single voice or sound arrived. Swallowed by the night. And so a being without name or rank found his way through the muddy waters, along the trail of their smell. No night-wind shook the trees when glowing eyes watched the bivouacs. The heavy smell of wild magnolia saturated the deepness. A Christian bell rang into the black when the first blood was dropped. Frogs sang a lonely song to welcome the new day. They all were dead. Not a single man or woman survived this night. The old wooden door opened slowly, a shadow run into the marshland. Red letters flow down the door. "Ce Soir". An Acadian woman began to sing amorous. © 2009 Sa Bir |
