Low And Foul

Low And Foul

A Poem by Apathy To Empathy

Low and foul is the earth you stand upon.

Your face wrenched in decay,

Rotting flesh of ocean filled tears.

Knobs of bones that make up

What is called a human body.

A rotting heart

That pumps no blood.

A deteriorating body

Only knows haunting.

What good would come from this?

We all knew you were foul in smell,

White past all white,

And had black organs past gone.

You were once so beautiful

In all complexion,

But gazing eyes rot at your site,

And the bodies within hold

Collapse in stone.

Low and foul is the earth you stand upon.

This is somehow darkly enchanting, as I knew it would be from the title.. I like the emotions expressed here, very invoking in style and mood. Quite a good scribe to soak in, thanks for sharing!
