Missing You, Dad

Our time together
Wasn’t nearly quite enough
just when I thought we’d have more
Life came to a full stop.

All we have left are photos and videos
To remember you by,
Each time I look at or watch them,
I can’t help but cry.

I thought I’d learn to live with grief
That it’ll get easier with time
But this doesn't stop me
from asking why?

Why our dear superhero
Was taken so soon,
When he was our guiding light
our sun, our star and our moon.

I could never fathom
any answer to this
So I'll cherish all our memories,
And mourn the years we'll miss.
