Slipping Away

Slipping Away

A Poem by april_moonflower

flowers on my pillow

lingering memories

like someone else's long lost life

a web of dreams

blown down by a breeze of time

love found

and lost once more

crushing emptyness pushes me

into a space that is tangible

heavy with grief

my tears fall like rain

in a a pool of confusion and resentment

a small death in my heart

over and over again

Nature of the beast that one. Love. A four letter word. But do we really want to live without it? Good write. Sad though.

I really enjoyed the sentiment here: moving on.
The older I get, the more distant my memories become. Am I remembering the events as they happened, or am I remembering my retelling of these incidents? At a point, the memories are no longer mine, but how can I distinguish them?

Thank you for embodying that thought.
