The Selfie Poem

The Selfie Poem

A Poem by Chirag Kumar

Drowsy eyes wake up,
to the frenzy of a lousy day.
I break away,
from comforts of cushions,
to stand up,
devoid of any virility.
Fingers hunt the bedroom,
for a glimpse of my phone,
to check my usual WhatsApp messages.
Oh f**k!
Today's my bae's birthday!
Forgot to wish her at midnight.
My dozy brain scrambles,
for a quick fix solution.
Suddenly an idea creeps out.
I click on the camera option
and snap a nude selfie.
Maybe that should soothe her mind,
or ignite her fire of lust,

Either ways I win!
