Argument

It was perfect for a while

Everything was going alright

Plans were made and set to happen

Our lives had just finally started

 

But we got into an argument one night

We said things that were awful

You walked away and left me all alone

I didn’t know if you were going to come home

 

I wasn’t expecting what happened next

It was only a simple argument

How could this have happened then

Now look at where we’re at ‘cause of it

 

I sit next to you holding your hand tightly

I talk to you for hours hoping you can hear me

I never leave your side, but for a few minutes

As each day passes I see people come and go

 

No one knows where either of us are

I don’t answer phone calls or texts

I just want to be alone with you

I think about the promise we made

 

I stare out the window watching the rain

I try to hide the tears from you and be strong

I look at you and pray for a miracle each day

It should have been me in that bed not you

 

I wish to see your eyes open again

I wish to hear your voice once more

I don’t want to lose you now

I’m not ready to have to let you go
