Black and Blue

A stream of light from the opened window

Casts a small slit across your face

I watch you carefully; study your movements

Longing to be a part of everything you are

 

A scene plays through my mind of you and me

Just a short embrace

Lacking definition

Avoiding meaning

A quick hello... A possible smile... That twinkle in your eye

 

Suddenly dreaming swirls to reality

You turn around to face me

And ask "Can I have a pen?"

I'm willing to give you so much more...

But for now

 

"Black or Blue?"
