Escape the Ocean Tide

You drift in and out of my life

Like the ocean tide

Creep up to my toes and

Splash your cold memories upon me

 

I run away

For fear that I'll be swept away again

Usually I am quick; faster than you

I can see you coming

And laughing, I escape your frigid past

 

But this time? This time was different

I saw you approaching

I tried to get away, I swear

But my toes were buried in the sands of our time!

 

You crashed around my ankles and

Pulled me under

I became yours... again
