If I Still Loved You

If I Still Loved You

A Poem by asempiresburn

If i still believed in love
Could you still love someone like me?
Years and years of empty words
Sewn up with empty dreams

If i still hated all you do
Could i still live without you?
A hundred days of night
And a thousand excuses why

If i still wrote you everyday
Would i still have words left to say
That page after page rots away
From lack of inspiration and decay

If i still felt alive
Would i still be so afraid to die?
Or would i fight for my life?
Only to die alone

If i still treasured all these things
I've known all my life
The slender strings that hold together
The things that last and last forever

If i still believed in you
If you still believed in me
Would i still grow tires of
The taste of blood between my teeth

If i still loved you
If you still loved me
The words lost on these empty streets
Could never bring you back to me
