Grieving to Heal

Grieving to Heal

Dedicate to my loving mother

Grieving to Heal

Like the caring hand of mothers
Spring breezes nurse a tender heart
Cradled in the dainty grass
Lips try to speak but cannot part
Nestled near the wicker basket
The one you wove for such a day
Lying in our picnic field
I couldn’t smudge the tears away
Amongst the trees, the birdies sing
In harmony from high above
Though never simple-minded
I doubt their songs could match my love
Flowers flick their sweet aroma
And daydreams mold into your face
While the clouds show no remorse
You rose to them with utmost grace
I’m trapped within my silent sobs
Without a breath to say goodbye
But they are streams of healing
An antidote for when you died
