A love poem

I love you for the little things, 

For the way you grip the wheel when you drive, 

For the way dance when you cook, 

For the way you sigh when I buy more books. 

 

I love you for the big things, 

For the way you sit with me in hospital, 

For the way you fight for me not against me, 

For the way even though you’ve seen the damage you stayed. 

 

I love you for who you are, 

For the way you love me, 

I love you without condition, 

Without transaction. 

 

I choose to love you, 

It is a conscious choice I make, 

But I think I also love you, 

Because of Fate.
