Breach In Nirvana

Breach In Nirvana

A Poem by Alexandra

Half way across Union St.
I found you on the corner
Teetering between two evils I couldn't comprehend
If only you turned more towards the lot
You'd find me there standing

With only actions to motivate me
I turned as quick as possible
& ran the opposite direction
In hopes I could erase my existence from that moment
And that small encounter

There, I learned my lesson!
I'll never take shortcuts on Union St. again
I'll never want to feel the way I felt that Saturday evening

Very haunting tableau. Eloquently written, hinting at a scene no-one should witness. "Teetering between two evils I could not comprehend"-great line. The protagonist runs away "In hopes I could erase my existence from that moment". Brilliant work!
