I Counted 28 Freckles So Far

I Counted 28 Freckles So Far

A Poem by Alexandra

When I'm least aware
You're looking right through me

My body shakes under these bleached sheets
A common phenomena these past couple of weeks

Your hand moves strands of damp hair from my face
I tremble & say, " I'm still in love with him, please don't be upset"

Tears I know so well fell down your cheek
You held me close & said with pure anxiety, " I'll never be anything like him, I refuse to let you go"

My shaking never returned since then, did you know?
