Expiration Date

Expiration Date

A Poem by Alexandra

Anger has been palpitating these veins
Whether it was from Friday's events
Or your simple ignorance
I can’t tell

The outlet next to my bed stopped working
There’s no desire to make dinner
Even the room has grown so cluttered

And you were right
I'm not cleanly
But neither are you
Forgiveness is only given on a clean slate
And after three days, you were willing to ask for it
Despite the mess that was made

So, even if the power turns off
And I live on the leftover blueberries from our last grocery run
& lay on the cluttered floors we made love in
I'll never forgive
I'll never give in
