To Travis

To Travis

A Poem by Alexandra

I can write all day
About how many times you let me down
& the moments you said you loved me
Yet, you walked out of the passenger seat

It takes a moment for me to realize
That you only exist in words
Cause when it came down to the meaning of your actions
Nothing ever seemed to transpire

So when I say I have to go now
It's because I can't wait any longer
For you to realize that this is all I've ever wanted
And that maybe, you should act like it too

And forget about our shower talks
And how that twin bed should've been a queen to fit both of our bodies
Because if you really wanted it
You would've stayed in the car
Instead of leaving me there to cry all alone

I just thought you loved me, that's all
