Misaligned

Misaligned

A Poem by Alexandra

You left the chips on the chair
And your glass still filled with water beside the bed
Also, your tattered vans in the closet

It always seem it's a dream when your around
And when I wake up, you're always gone
Easy for me to forget what this all means

And I talk to my friends all the time about how we've changed
That things aren't the same anymore
You put your phone on Do Not Disturb when it's near me
And I find it hard to express what I'm feeling without feeling agitated at the things you do

And when you perform tonight
I just hope you'll remember the home that's on Guilden St.
A place where you told me that forever meant ever
And the same place we've decided to renew

And I know things are different now
Cause I feel it all the time when you're around
I guess I'll keep looking at the New Brunswick train station
and you can keep looking at your phone
Until we both realize what's really good for us
