The First Time I Heard Modern Baseball

The First Time I Heard Modern Baseball

A Poem by Alexandra

I hear Apple Cider, I Don't Mind again
F**k.
Here i go grabbing another cigarette to take this away from me
This feeling that you'll never come back
Cause soon, I'll become too far for you to grasp

And my friends are high off of acid
But I end up reading literature and science papers to pass the evening
While you play house shows with your local band
To me, you'll always be a star
And baby, I hope you'll find the one

Whether its me or the one in the corner
Banging her head to the sound of your voice
Eyeing the very man I love
And I hope she's the very thing you need
While I slip away to wherever I need to be, that doesn't include you
