Summer Epilogue

Summer Epilogue

A Poem by Alexandra

So we’re back at square one
Where your hands are tied behind your back
And my mouth is shut tight
It’s only normal when there is nothing more to say
Since there is nothing much to do

I love you
Becomes the words etched in the walls of our home
Only pleasing our guests
But becoming the background to what actually occurs in the center of it all

An eye for an eye will never make even to those who love each other the most
But it’s clear to see that it’s the only way to find balance in this disaster we’ve been calling home
