A Poem by Alexandra

In winter's time
I felt the warmth of your inch thick jacket
The cigarette you held in your hand was what gave us warmth
I climbed that fence that day
I went down the fire pole
I took that extra leap to be what you wanted
So don't tell me this is what you've always hoped it would be
When I can't even look at you straight in the face
And you can't even walk
Did you know I changed my job to not feel so alone at night anymore?
I should've never said anything that day
I should've never fell into your arms
I should've never-
