Mute & Forgotten

Mute & Forgotten

A Poem by Alexandra

I'm never like this
I'm probably better off going back to school and keeping my mouth shut
Back to the days where I wouldn't utter a word
And only feel the abstract vibrations of conversations
When my friends would speak for me
And I would just cry at night to my effortless ways of communicating

I was 14 then; but nothings really changed
The depression still settles
The anger comes & goes
And the hate is overwhelming

This is to the people who found it funny to mock the mute & hurt those who couldn't speak up for themselves:
You will never be anything, but the dirt underneath my feet

Gee
School bullying is and will always be a major problem no matter where you are in the world, and the consequences of this are often felt life long.
