Trivia Night

Trivia Night

A Poem by Alexandra

My mom called me after Bohemian Rhapsody and I found myself looking into green eyes once again. She tells me she’s happy I’m hanging out with someone that’s treating me right, but she wants me to take it slow. “We’re just friends, nothing more.” So you laugh at the idea of ever getting back together and tonight at the bar, everyone cheered us on as the winning couple . Our hands touched for a split moment. We won third place in trivia. You drive me to my car. We look at each others eyes and everything returns, freshman year in college, Sharkeys Apartments, March 2016. I say goodbye and I run out to my car. It’s there still, I can feel it.
