Clean Jeans

A Poem by Alexandra

There is something about the way you kiss my neck that is dowsed in heat and tranquility
It’s chamomile tea on a winter’s day
Call my name the way you did again
And these antidepressants won’t f*****g work again
I promise that I’ll never go back to him
And we’ll run away like we were supposed to at 19

“I missed you so much”
“I’ve been aching for this for so long”

Its incredible how you were my guardian angel all along
Wishing the bad away
And praying for my safe return in your horizons
I promise I am no safe-keeping
But, I love the idea of being home with you
Just promise to love me.
And we’ll be alright .

A lot of tangible emotion captured in this poem. The connection between the title and the meaning of the poem is a bit vague, though. This is just my personal view, but I always believe that English has a wide variety of words so that we don't have to use strong language - there are times, I guess, when strong language is appropriate though I did not sense that it was in this poem.

Great poetry. This nearly had the feel of a short story - as if there is a lot more to be told.
