Perpendicular Lines

Perpendicular Lines

A Poem by Alexandra

Today it didn’t hit me that I was alone
Maybe it’s because the sound of the wind accompanies so well with the heater in my room
I hear the train
And the cars
Lovers meeting lovers to be snowed in together
I see it in the hallways all the time
Lovers touching and whispering “I Love You”
I can’t tell you I hate it
Because it’s endearing to know someone has someone
And maybe it’s not my time now
But it might be some time later
I’m not counting though
I think I’ll be alright
