Planting Seeds

Planting Seeds

A Poem by Alexandra

If you said no
Then he would’ve said yes
Hop on the train to NY
Watching snow accumulate on the ground
Delay per delay
At least I made it
Criss cross around the streets
Finally arrived at my destination
This is probably the first time I ever went to NY alone

Today I woke up on the 15th floor
New Yorkers are little ants slushing through the crosswalks
I wonder why I haven’t thought of moving here
You can become so small
But in this moment, I felt revelations to be someone bigger than this
My writing has been taking such deep turns ever since I spoke to Gary on Mary Oliver last Wednesday
I was so afraid

“Do you think he’s going to ever talk to you again?”
“Not sure. But I love your view”
