Nirvana

Nirvana

A Poem by Alexandra

I’ll smoke a cigarette
I won’t think about how you fit between these lovers
I have my schedule planned until next year
There is something about my resilience
How I’m so willing to keep getting back up

These meds have been working so well
The idea of you fleets here & there
When I’m looking in the eyes of another
It doesn’t matter
It overtakes me
My self-revelation has always been in the arms of another
It never mattered if it was yours
Ever.
